Breitling celebrates the opening of its Geneva boutique

with John Travolta, an experienced pilot, passionate aviation enthusiast and Breitling ambassador
La Cote des Montres - September 24th, 2016

The inauguration of the first Breitling boutique in Switzerland was marked by a big event featuring the presence of two-time Academy Award nominated actor, Golden Globes award winner and Emmy Awards recipient John Travolta, also an experienced pilot, passionate aviation enthusiast and Breitling ambassador.

In addition to the international movie star, the event drew more than 140 guests, including the pilots of the Patrouille Suisse (the Swiss Air Force aerobatic display team), brand ambassadors such as Olympic gold medal-winners Dominique Gisin and Simon Ammann, world aerobatics champion Aude Lemordant, Swiss aerobatics champion Pierre Marmy as well as the chef, Swiss TV star and helicopter pilot René Schudel.

Breitling marked the occasion by launching an exclusive version of its legendary Navitimer, the cult watch among pilots since 1952. This “Navitimer 01 (46 mm) Limited Edition” in steel and gold, issued in a 100-piece limited edition and available exclusively in Switzerland, is distinguished by its bronze-colored dial.

After the official inauguration ceremony in the boutique, guests and media representatives were invited to a private soirée held on the Île Rousseau, in the heart of Geneva.

Located on the banks of the Rhône, a stone’s throw from the lake, the new Breitling boutique in Geneva enjoys exceptional visibility, further heightened by a neon sign on the top of the building. The 130 sq.m. interior has been entirely fitted out in a modern and original style combining the brand’s heritage with the vivid colors of New York pop art painter Kevin Kelly. The generous store windows invite customers to step inside and explore the entire range of Breitling “instruments for professionals”, including the legendary Navitimer as well as the Breitling for Bentley models.

Within just a few years, Breitling – one of the last remaining independent family- owned Swiss watch firms – has inaugurated more than 40 boutiques around the world. An effective way of reinforcing its presence on different markets by offering its customers access to locations that are a perfect reflection of the brand universe.
