Paris, France – 5 October 2022: TAG Heuer and Porsche, who have entered into a global brand partnership in 2021 and have since introduced three collaborative timepieces together, join forces again to celebrate their unique alliance on the exact 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, with a spectacular event in Paris.
Celebrated during an evening event held place Vendôme, two new memorable
TAG Heuer Carrera × Porsche RS 2.7 watches were showcased in honor of the 50
th anniversary of the Porsche Carrera RS 2.7. The two limited-edition timepieces were introduced earlier today, highlighting the signature features that have made the 1972 sportscar and the 1963 chronograph such celebrated icons in motorsports and watchmaking. With these anniversary pieces, TAG Heuer and Porsche demonstrate the strength and authenticity of their partnership and their shared Carrera racing spirit.
Guests were welcomed for the festivities in a specially redesigned space retracing the legendary history behind the TAG Heuer Carrera watch and the Porsche 911 Carrera, which was fittingly first introduced on the exact same day 50 years ago - in Paris.
“We are delighted to be in Paris to mark the 50th anniversary of the famed Porsche Carrera 911 RS 2.7, the very first of Porsche’s sportscars to bear a name that has united us through the decades.” says Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer “To mark this historical moment and pay tribute to a design that is beloved by all, TAG Heuer introduced two limited edition TAG Heuer Carrera chronographs co- created with Porsche to highlight the car’s most iconic features. The result is a stunning wristwatch, in red or blue, that expresses the unique spirit of the 1970s in a resolutely modern way, a meaningful take on our shared history that will undoubtedly become a collectors’ favorite.”
To celebrate with them, TAG Heuer and Porsche invited the brands’ closest friends, partners, media and personalities to discover the new watches first hand and experience the power of what is possible when two of the most beloved brands in the automotive and watch industry come together as one.
