The Laureato makes a stopover in the country of its birth, Italy
On Wednesday June 7th, the many journalists assembled in Milan for the occasion were introduced to the Laureato collection – as well as its latest interpretation, the Laureato Skeleton model – by Girard-Perregaux CEO Antonio Calce.
The event began with a cocktail on the Rooftop of the Terrazza Gallia, the city’s
“place to be”, and continued with a unique culinary experience at the famous Cerea brothers three Michelin-star restaurant in Milan’s Excelsior Gallia Hotel. Building on the success of its launch at the start of the year, the Laureato is pursuing its epic journey and proved a great hit with the Italian press.
The Laureato now represents a complete family incorporated within the current Girard-Perregaux collection. Four sizes, four calibres, four materials: the Laureato range has been enriched and will continue to evolve while welcoming further horological complications.
Haute couture touches, exquisite finishing: representing the latest addition to the Laureato collection, this watch with its metal bracelet is an exercise in watchmaking architecture. In creating this exceptional model, Girard-Perregaux has drawn on the origins of the Laureato, on the noblest inspirations, as well as on its own horological expertise.
Antonio Calce, CEO Girard-Perregaux:
"We simply had to come to Italy. For me it feels entirely natural to be here in Milan, in the country where our iconic Laureato was born, because it was indeed an Italian who created it! I am also delighted to present our new Laureato Skeleton model. The Laureato collection is very promising for our brand.”
