In Japan, an appreciation for the changing seasons is woven into the fabric of daily life. Grand Seiko celebrates the ebullient reds of autumn with its latest creation, the Hi-Beat 36000 GMT SBGJ273. With its red striated dial, this watch calls to mind the way lacquered wooden floors in a traditional Japanese building reflect the leaves of outside maple trees, expressing Yuka Momiji.

SBGJ273 comes in a classic case shape from the Elegance Collection that was influenced by the very first Grand Seiko watch from 1960. Its rounded case and raised box-shaped crystal recall a mid-century aesthetic, while a gold-colored GMT hand, when paired with the striking red dial, adds to the feeling of autumn. Powering the SBGJ273 is the Hi-Beat 36000 GMT Caliber 9S86, which features automatic winding and a power reserve of 55 hours.

The watch will be available from Grand Seiko boutiques and selected retailers worldwide from September 2023.
