Master Compressor Diving Lady,

the feminine approach to diving
La Cote des Montres - November 25th, 2007

They offer a choice between two unusual automatic complications in the feminine Master Compressor collection: a second time-zone display or a chronograph function. And as Jaeger-LeCoultre can never dissociate exceptional watchmaking achievements from the perfection of elegant designs, the Master Compressor Diving Lady radiate a distinctively glamorous appeal inspired by maritime depths.

A sporty and glamorous watch

Adorned with applied metal hour-markers and numerals, the dials of the master Compressor Diving Lady watches feature the aesthetic tokens of their aquatic destiny in a range of alternating white and turquoise touches. A wind rose evokes orienteering instruments. Their opaline-white dial is graced with a sunburst guilloché pattern coated in a luminescent material and composing a gorgeous star-shaped motif in the dark.

The turquoise shade highlights the wind rose, the 12 reference markers on the diving bezel, as well as the movement operating indication at 6 o’clock. The latter takes the form of a three-part window enabling one to follow the rotation of a two-tone disc that interprets the passing seconds in a playful and contemporary manner.

Since precious stones have always made ladies’ hearts beat faster, including sporty ones, 16 full- cut diamonds are set around the bezel, adorning the five-minute notches designed like a trapeze in a visual extension of the hour-markers and arrow-tipped hands.

On the 18-carat pink-gold model, turquoise is transformed into precious silvery shades evoking the transparency of the waters surrounding coral reefs.

A professional instrument with a resolutely elegant appearance

The Master Compressor Diving Lady watches achieve a subtle blend of feminine elegance and technical performance. Their automatic functions and their designs mirror a diving world interpreted in a feminine mode by Jaeger-LeCoultre, while maintaining compliance with the rigorous standards governing professional diver’s watches.

These are watches clearly belonging to a collection designed to guarantee perfect reliability. Their compression key crown ensures absolute security by supercharging one of the toric gaskets. The diving bezel is equipped with a protective mechanism that prevents any accidental rotation and features minutes indexing. Like the hands, the reference rectangle is luminescent to ensure immediate readability and reliable calculation of dive times.

The two new Master Compressor Diving Lady watches are sports watches in the fullest sense of the term. They provide eloquent proof that a highly technical instrument may also be an exquisitely elegant piece of jewellery that inevitably becomes an indispensable companion in discovering far-flung horizons and ocean depths.

In order to meet the stringent demands of water resistance to 300 metres, the Master Compressor Diving Lady watches are fitted with a 1.7 mm high cambered sapphire crystal, while the screwed-in caseback is 2.1mm thick.
