Richard Mille congratulates Sébastien Buemi on his victory in the Buenos Aires ePrix
Last weekend Renault e.Dams of which Richard Mille is the watchmaking partner, entered its two drivers Nicolas Prost and Sébastien Buemi for the Buenos Aires ePrix in the streets of the Argentinean capital. The team’s Swiss driver continued his flawless performance by scoring his third victory on the bounce in the FIA Formula E Championship, and the first in the 2017 season as Buenos Aires hosted the opening round.
Buemi continues to impress. He was third on the grid and fought his way into the lead before the round of pit stops. He went on to take the chequered flag in first place in front of French driver Jean-Eric Vergne and Lucas di Grassi from Brazil on the 2,48-km Puerto Madero circuit on which the cars ran in an anti-clockwise direction.
“I’ve always been very quick in Buenos Aires, but it’s the first time I managed to transform my speed into a victory. It’s the concrete result of all the work carried out over the last two seasons. It’s a fairly special layout with two long straights on which we reach the highest speeds of the year. It wasn’t easy to save energy because of these long straights, but they provided great overtaking opportunities,” said
Sébastien.
This victory has helped Buemi consolidate his place as leader in the overall classification after his wins in Hong Kong and Marrakech as he now has a total of 75 points.
Nicolas Prost has also scored a triple as he again finished fourth holding on to his third place in the general classification with 36 points.
“I like the Puerto Madero circuit; it’s one of the best on the Formula E calendar. Thanks to its long straights you can push harder than on the other tracks. It’s much more fun for the driver.”
Thanks to the performances of its two drivers Renault e.Dams dominates the championship with almost twice as many points as Audi. The Richard Mille brand has been supporting the team since the beginning of Formula E. This sporting partnership is the perfect illustration of the common spirit of the two entities, which both believe in this revolutionary concept and have committed to helping it take off.
