Jules Audemars Clinton Foundation Equation of Time
La Cote des Montres - October 11th, 2007

Continuing the long-standing Audemars Piguet tradition of philanthropy through its Audemars Piguet Foundation, a significant portion of the proceeds from the sale of each Clinton Foundation Equation of Time timepiece will benefit the Clinton Foundation, a Foundation that looks to help the world move beyond the current state of globalization to a more integrated global community of shared benefits, responsibilities, and values. The Clinton Foundation is currently working around the world on its various initiatives, including the HIV/AIDS Initiative, which brings care and treatment to people living with HIV/AIDS; the Clinton Global Initiative, whose members recently pledged 245 new commitments to address the issues of education, energy and climate change, health, and poverty; and the Clinton Climate Initiative, which is currently working on an energy efficient building retrofit program in some of the world’s largest cities.

“My Foundation is working around the world to have a measurable and sustainable impact on some of the most pressing issues we face today, such as HIV/AIDS, global climate change, poverty and the health epidemic of childhood obesity in the United States,” said President Clinton. “We cannot do this work alone, and thank Audemars Piguet for their support of my Foundation.”

“We believe that the Clinton Foundation and Audemars Piguet share common values of innovation and excellence,” says Audemars Piguet’s CEO Georges-Henri Meylan. “Audemars Piguet is very proud of helping the Clinton Foundation to achieve the ambitious goals it has set for the coming years. We share the same philosophy, and our new partnership will allow us to launch a unique collection and donate $3 million to the Clinton Foundation for environmental projects. The Audemars Piguet Foundation has the goal of contributing to the conservation of forests around the world within the framework of environmental protection and awareness-raising among youth. This is a perfect synergy.”

The Clinton Foundation Equation of Time collection encompasses a truly amazing group of timepieces that remains true to Audemars Piguet’s tradition of excellence, tradition, and creative daring—a daring that stands out especially in the firm’s highly complex watch mechanisms. The exceptional timepieces combine several functions including the equation of time, sunrise and sunset times, and a perpetual calendar with astronomical moon. Each of the Clinton Foundation Equation of Time timepieces features the White House as a location on the graduated ring of the watch and the Seal of President Clinton engraved on the back of the watch. The collection’s platinum timepieces will be presented along with an architectural scale model of the White House. As President Clinton was the 42nd President of the United States, the Clinton Foundation Equation of Time collection features only 42 watches in each of three luxurious materials: platinum, rose gold, and white gold. Available from October in AP boutiques.
