Just precious and exclusive, shaped for eternity
La Cote des Montres - January 28th, 2006

Chanel J12 Haute Joaillerie for the 2006 Basel Fair

This J12 watch is a mixture of exclusive and timeless materials: 18-karat white gold, deep-black scratchproof ceramic and Mademoiselle Chanel’s favorite gemstone, diamond. She dedicated her 1932 Fine Jewelry collection to them saying, “If I chose diamonds, it is because they represent the greatest value in the smallest volume.”

This exceptional J12 associates watch-making know-how with the purest Fine Jewelry tradition. 597 baguette-cut diamonds are set in white gold. The bracelet-links, the dial’s centre and the 12 indexes set with baguette-cut black ceramic, all highlight the sparkle of these diamonds. For extreme detail, the sides of the watchcase are equally set with baguette-cut diamonds. More than 32 carats of diamonds adorn the bracelet, bezel, watchcase and dial. The crown is set with a facetted diamond. 1,400 hours were required to cut the diamonds and it look more than one year in the finest workshops to finally complete this creation.

Created by Jacques Helleu, this J12 Haute Joaillerie is available in 5 examples: Mademoiselle Chanel’s lucky number. All the Chanel codes are concentrated in this one model: black and white, diamond and ceramic, the alliance of traditional know-how and high technology, coming together to form an eternal J12.
