To mark the occasion of the reinvention of 30 Avenue Montaigne – the beating heart of the House, transformed after two years of renovation – Dior is presenting an exceptional diamond, named, as a tribute to the legendary address, Le Montaigne.

Discovered in 2020, in South Africa’s historic Kimberley Mine, this 150-carat rough diamond fascinates with its dazzling beauty. Dior has declared its desire to see this singular, bewitching stone included in its unique patrimony, on one condition: that the diamond, once cut, must weigh precisely 88.88 carats, echoing the number 8, which is inseparable from the Dior legacy.

One of Christian Dior’s lucky charms, this symbolic figure evokes October 8, 1946, the date of the founding of his House – made up of eight floors that would house eight workshops, in the 8^th arrondissement of Paris – and celebrates his En Huit* line, which enhanced with its iconic curves – “clean and shapely, with underlined necklines and accentuated hips” – the silhouettes of the New Look, ultimately eternal.

After nine months of studying, modeling, cutting – carried out by master gem cutters with virtuoso savoir-faire – and then certification, Le Montaigne reveals its intense yellow hues, the clarity of its glints and its incomparable brilliance. Displayed in the new boutique at 30 Avenue Montaigne for its inauguration, it will then be mounted on a custom-made piece designed by Victoire de Castellane, Artistic Director of Dior Joaillerie. An ode to the infinite creativity of the House and the excellence of its ateliers.
