To commemorate the 40
th anniversary of Earth Day, Christie’s will hold the Green Auction to raise awareness and funds. Proceeds will be used to advocate for the benefit of four leading not-for-profit environmental organizations: Oceana, Conservatism International, Natural Resources Defense Council and the Central Park Conservancy.
The Swiss Haute Horlogerie Manufacture Girard-Perregaux joins this collective action by donating 2 timepieces of exception housing its iconic Tourbillon with three gold Bridges.
"A Bid to Save the Earth" is slated for April 22 in New York and boasts the participation of a panoply of cultural, business and environmental leaders from Hollywood stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert Redford to designer Vera Wang, activist Robert F. Kennedy and Queen Noor, the widow of Jordanian King Hussein.
Among top stars signing on to the host committee include Hugh Jackman, Christina Aguilera, David Duchovny, Harrison Ford, Ed Norton, Tobey Maguire, Brooke Shields, Salma Hayek, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz and Alec Baldwin.
