Hublot becomes the Official Timekeeper of Porto Montenegro Marina and Yacht Club
Friday, 20th July 2018 – Yesterday in Porto Montenegro, Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot, next to David Margason, Managing Director of Porto Montenegro, launched a strategic partnership that sees the Swiss luxury watch brand become Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the superyacht marina and the Porto Montenegro Yacht Club.
On the ruins of a former arsenal, Porto Montenegro Marina and Yacht Club was erected less than 10 years ago by visionary men including LVMH Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault, Jacob Rothschild and Canadian businessman and philanthropist Peter Munk. Located in the deep-water Bay of Kotor, boasting spectacular natural beauty, Porto Montenegro has quickly turned into a sophisticated haven for sailors from all over the world.
Now boasting a fully-integrated marina with more than 450 berths, Porto Montenegro also features 290 luxury waterfront residences, a five-star hotel and a Yacht Club as well as over 50 retail units and dozens more projects in the development pipeline.
Relying on its nautical roots, Hublot has made a significant number of smart moves all along the Mediterranean coastline in the past few years. In 2007, the Swiss watchmaker set up one of its first boutiques within the walls of the legendary Hôtel Byblos in Saint-Tropez.
Ten years later in 2017, Hublot launched the Classic Fusion Ibiza and the Classic Fusion Mykonos, and celebrated the opening of four directly operated Boutiques, adopting a nautical theme, in Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Capri and Porto Cervo.
This year, only a few weeks after its Monaco Boutique opened, Hublot celebrates its partnership with Porto Montenegro, the latest “it spot” for Mediterranean lovers.
To seal this truly unique partnership, Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe and 120 privileged guests gathered by Porto Montenegro Yacht Club infinity pool yesterday evening. In this magical setting, surrounded by the Adriatic’s blue waters, Hublot revealed the Classic Fusion Chronograph Porto Montenegro.
To celebrate summer the new timepiece showcases the blue of the sky and the sea, its blue sunray dial is adorned with the Porto Montenegro logo at 3 o’clock as well as on the case-back. Powered by a self-winding movement, this limited edition comes with a blue rubber and calfskin strap.
Made of titanium, its sleek case is an epitome of timeless elegance. Only 30 pieces are being released, now available at Excelsior, Hublot exclusive retailer in Porto Montenegro as well as all across Central Europe.
“This exciting new partnership unites the watchmaking and timekeeping expertise of Hublot with our exclusive marina lifestyle community,” commented
David Margason, Managing Director of Porto Montenegro.
“We are delighted to welcome Hublot onboard and look forward to collaborating with them on our extensive calendar of Yacht Club regattas and member social events.”
CEO of Hublot, declared: “Hublot has become a key player on the Mediterranean coastline, dropping anchor in historical harbours such as Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Monaco, Capri and Porto Cervo as well as in more intimate havens like Porto Montenegro.
Hublot again demonstrates its capacity to constantly renew itself while respecting its own proud history and tradition. The classic fusion Porto Montenegro is the fusion of these core beliefs.”
